Good to know

Healthcare assistants in Germany (Krankenpflegehelfer or Pflegehelfer) support registered nurses and doctors with daily care in hospitals and nursing homes.

The role

Assist with patient hygiene, feeding, mobility support and monitoring vital signs, always under the supervision of a general nurse (Pflegefachperson).

Language

Assistant roles usually need at least German B1. Full nurse registration typically needs German B2. English B2+ is accepted as a working language in our nursing home group — German is preferred, not required.

Qualification

Many care assistants qualify through the national standard for elderly and general care (§53b Care Assistant certification). Career changers without formal training are welcome.

Recognition

Foreign qualifications can be evaluated and recognised through the official Anerkennung in Deutschland portal. We help you start and track this.
